Authorization to have the Authority and Powers of a Peace Officer under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
Pursuant to subsection 138(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, I hereby authorize the officers who hold the following titles to have the authority and powers of a peace officer – including those set out in sections 487 to 492.2 of the Criminal Code – to enforce the Act, including any of its provisions with respect to the arrest, detention or removal from Canada of any person:
- Assistant Director, Enforcement and Intelligence Operations
- Border Services Officer
- Chief of Operations
- Director, Corporate, Programs and Integration Management Division
- Director, Enforcement and Intelligence
- Hearing Advisor (FB-03)
- Hearings Officer
- Intelligence Analyst
- Inland Enforcement Officer
- Intelligence Liaison Officer
- Intelligence Officer
- Investigator
- Manager, Enforcement and Intelligence Operations
- Manager, Regional Programs
- Regional Director General
- Regional Program Officer
- Superintendent
- Supervisor, Inland Enforcement
This Authorization replaces any previous Authorization to have the Authority and Powers of a Peace Officer under the Act, and comes into force on the day on which it is signed.
