Notice of conclusion of expiry review investigation: Corrosion-Resistant Steel Sheet (COR1 2024 ER)

Ottawa,

On January 15, 2024, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT), pursuant to subsection 76.03(1) of the Special Import Measures Act (SIMA), initiated an expiry review of its finding made on February 21, 2019, in Inquiry No. NQ-2018-004, concerning the dumping of certain corrosion-resistant steel sheet originating in or exported from the People’s Republic of China (China), the Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu (Chinese Taipei), the Republic of India (India) and the Republic of Korea (South Korea).

As a result, on January 16, 2024, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) initiated an expiry review investigation to determine whether the expiry of the finding is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping of the goods.

The investigation has now been completed and today, pursuant to paragraph 76.03(7)(a) of SIMA, the CBSA has determined that the expiry of the finding is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping of such goods originating in or exported from China, Chinese Taipei, India and South Korea.

A Statement of Reasons that contains additional details concerning the determination made by the CBSA will be issued within 15 days.

The CITT will now conduct an inquiry to determine whether the expiry of its finding is likely to result in injury to the Canadian industry and has announced that it will issue its decision no later than November 20, 2024.
