Notice of initiation of scope proceeding: Certain carbon steel fasteners (FAS 2023 SP1)

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) initiated a scope proceeding on , under the Special Import Measures Act (SIMA) respecting certain carbon steel fasteners originating in or exported from the People’s Republic of China (China) and the Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu (Chinese Taipei).
The scope proceeding is the result of an application filed with the CBSA by National Nail, a potential importer of the goods that are the subject of the application. The scope proceeding will establish whether or not CAMO Edge Screws are subject to the Canadian International Trade Tribunal’s order issued on , in Expiry Review No. RR-2019-002, concerning the dumping of certain carbon steel fasteners originating in or exported from China and Chinese Taipei and the subsidizing of certain carbon steel fasteners originating in or exported from China.
A notice of the conclusion and a copy of the Statement of reasons, which will provide more details about this proceeding, will be available on or before .
