COVID-19: Latest update
Short trips 72 hours or less by land and air
Starting , Canadians or individuals who have right of entry, qualify as fully vaccinated travellers and who re-enter Canada within 72 hours of leaving, won’t have to provide a pre-entry molecular test result. This will also apply to their accompanying children under 12, regardless of whether or not the children are vaccinated.
Individuals with right of entry include: Canadian citizens, permanent residents, those registered under the Indian Act, and their accompanying children under 12.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, services have been temporarily suspended at many small airports. This table lists the airports where CBSA continues to offer service, and notes the airports where service hours have been temporarily reduced or suspended.
Please note that all aircraft operators arriving at airports of entry currently open for service by the CBSA remain subject to the Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) issued by Transport Canada. This NOTAM, until rescinded or amended by Transport Canada, requires all aircraft operators to funnel the majority of international and trans-border inbound flights to one of the following 10 airports:
- Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport
- Calgary International Airport
- Edmonton International Airport
- Halifax Stanfield International Airport
- Montréal-Trudeau International Airport
- Ottawa Macdonald–Cartier International Airport
- Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport
- Toronto Pearson International Airport
- Vancouver International Airport and
- Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport
The NOTAM restriction applies to the following operations when they are transporting passengers to Canada:
- Scheduled commercial passenger flights from all countries
- International business / private passenger flights from all countries and
- International charter passenger flights from all countries
Exceptions from NOTAM
Aircraft operators conducting flight activities exempt from the NOTAM restriction (i.e. general aviation, MEDEVAC) may land at any airport open for CBSA business.
Visit NAV Canada for further explanations of the restrictions enforced by the NOTAM as well as the exceptions.
Visit COVID-19: Entering Canada requirements checklist for more information on flight restrictions.
