As a summary reporter, if no applicable goods had been exported from Canada during the reporting period of concern (Example: ), then it is necessary to complete a "NIL" report submission for the reporting period.
A new summary report must be submitted to the CBSA within five business days from the start of each month, regardless of whether any applicable goods had been exported from Canada during the previous month. (To complete a "NIL" report submission, create a new summary report within the CERS Portal and assign a checkmark entry to the "Create a NIL Report" checkbox. Within the "NIL" report, the user will be required to supply general information, such as the certifier's name, address, telephone number, and email address.)
